Iranian Tehranten films will take part in the 7th Amicorti International Film Festival (Amicorti IFF) held in the historic Italian town from June 23rd to 28th.
In addition to the films selected for various sections of the festival, the two Iranians will also serve as ju-crowers at the event, Mehr reported.
In the international short film section, three Iranian films compete, including “Just A Fist” by Mostafa Yeganeh, “Sting of War” by Arash Mousavi, and “You I don’t think so” by Salaheddin Noori.
“Just a Fist” is about a suspect, and along with evidence of the crime, they are escorted by soldiers to a police station in another city to meet the judge. During the journey, the suspect makes unexpected requests to the soldiers.

“You’re not, but you think you do,” portrays Navid and Forough, a happy couple who find an unusual way to stay together despite the events that led to their separation.
Three Iranian films will be featured in the international documentary section, including “Are there any traces of flowers for tomorrow?” “Nights and Fogs of Kurdistan” by Ghazaleh Toodeh Zaim, Shilan Saadi, “Old Friends” by Sam Yekta.
“Are there any traces of flowers for tomorrow?” It depicts the lives of four Iranian women in four generations and examines concerns and challenges in modern Iran.
“The Night and the Fog of Kurdistan” tells the story of a Yazidi refugee girl, a survivor of the Sinjar massacre who lived in a refugee camp in Turkish refugee camp five years ago. As these girls scattered throughout Europe, the director tells a powerful story of resilience and survival, exploring the rich history of the Kurdish people, shedding light on the ongoing evacuation of the Yazidi community.
“Old Friend” took the professional journey of well-known art journalists working in the 1950s and 1960s, contributing to popular and well-known youth magazines. The publication played an important role in launching numerous artists in a variety of fields, including film and music.
“Ext. Friendship – Night” by Mehdi Ahmadpanah is the only film from Iran in the international feature film section.
In the film, four old friends gather at night, one of them sets off for military service to say goodbye. One of them documented the events that night. A few years later, he returns to his hometown and tries to reunite the group.
In the international animation section, “Piano” by Mahjang Keshani and Shahab Shamsi represent Iran. The story follows a man who dreams of buying a piano, but the devastation of war takes him from his simplest desires, leading him on a journey between inner chaos and the pursuit of peace.
In the film section of Global Social Issues, “The School Principal” by Mikaeel Dayani and “Bird Day” by Davood Haseli and Mohammad Naseri will be exhibited from Iran.
“School Principal” depicts a school in which students participate in the “Women, Life, Freedom” movement. However, the principal is opposed to a movement that is driven by seemingly logical reasons and creates conflict between youthful ideals and institutional authority.
In “Bird Day,” a boy challenges the forest to hunt butterflies, but meets a bird hunter and is fascinated by a rifle. After finding the fledgling, he raises it up and releases it into the sky, gradually seeing all the birds as their own, losing interest in hunting.
The Iranian ju umpire for the festival is actor and film producer Hossain Soleimani and musician and composer Fariman Jabbarzadeh.
Soleimani is one of the ju apprentices in the international feature film section, and Jabbarzadeh serves as the ju apprentices in the international video marriage & global social issues section.
