TEHRAN — Nazem Razavi, CEO of Tehran City Cultural Space Development Company, said that nearly 20 museums will be added to Tehran’s cultural and tourist destinations.
According to Shabestan News Agency, he also said that good opportunities are emerging in the development of cultural complexes.
Razavi added that one of the special measures of the Tehran City Cultural and Spatial Development Company is to allocate 3 trillion rials ($3 million) for the implementation of tourism projects.
He further said that more than 200 mosques have been supported and monitored with nearly R8 trillion, a measure reminiscent of the 6th phase of city management.
Tehran is one of Iran’s top tourist destinations, and there are many famous tourist attractions within the city. In 2016, Tehran received 1.64 million foreign tourists. Tehran is home to several art, history, and science museums, including the World Heritage Site Golestan Palace, the National Museum of Iran, and the Carpet Museum. There’s also a modern art museum that houses works by artists such as Andy Warhol, Pablo Picasso, and Van Gogh.
