TEHRAN – Local experts have confirmed the originality of 200 grams of met stone discovered by farmers around Mobaraque city in Isfahan, an engineer at the Institute of Electron Microscopy at Isfahan University said.
Raouf Rahimzadeh explained that a few days ago, along with some precious stones, one of the well-known professors of petrology, Mohammadali Makkizadeh, sent it to the laboratory.
By cherishing these stones, he said, contrary to popular belief, there is no evidence of expensive elements such as gold, silver or rhodium in met stones.
The material value of these objects is to conduct scientific and space research on them, he added.
He pointed out that the metstone is thought to be occurring between Mars and Uranus.
Pointing to the image of metstone emitted by electron microscopes, he noted that the rock structure consists of light elements rich in silicon and magnesium, heavy elements of iron and nickel.
It is noteworthy that the last metallite of Isfahan was identified near the Gab Kuni marsh.
Iran’s second metstone museum was launched in November 2024 at the Iranian Mall in Tehran. It has since been more than six years since the first branch at Azadi Tower was launched.
Opened in 2019, Tehran’s Azadi Tower branch features over 1,200 metstone samples, including Iran’s largest metstone, the most beautiful object, and Iran’s oldest Meterostone.
