Brigadier General Mohammad Pakpur, commander of the IRGC ground forces, revealed the numbers on Thursday at a commemorative ceremony for marry guards in the incident in Rusk, Sistan and Balautistan on April 6, 2024.
Referring to the attacks at Rask and Chabahar in April 2024, Pakpour said, “All 18 terrorists killed in these operations were foreigners disguised as local fuel smugglers. They hid weapons in fuel containers.”
He cited a confession from arrested collaborator who confirmed the account, urging locals to stay vigilant and prevent foreigners from pretending to be residents.
Speaking about another incident in Goharkouh, he said, “After the attack, more than 150 militants were arrested and 100 were eliminated in our security operations.”
He said the detainees have admitted that they were directed by the Rusk fugitives who joined the rebels overseas.
Pakpour called on residents to not be affected by such individuals and warned them to rent homes to strangers engaged in conduct that undermine the safety and development of the area.
He concluded by highlighting the support of the fallen guards to the families.
“We all have to work together to address the family issues of those who have sacrificed their loved ones for the safety of this country,” he said.
