A new survey by the Israel Democracy Institute shows that 27 percent of the population is considering emigrating, indicating a serious crisis of trust within Israel, Cradle newspaper reported on Monday.
This figure includes 30% of Palestinians with Israeli citizenship and 26% of Jewish nationals, revealing widespread disillusionment across the community.
Among Jewish Israelis, the numbers across key demographics are even more striking. Sixty percent of young secular Jews say they want to leave, and that number rises to 80 percent among high-income Jewish Israelis with foreign passports.
People who have higher education, hold globally relevant jobs, or have lived abroad demonstrate a strong desire to leave the country.
Respondents cited cost of living, insecurity, political turmoil and a sense of “no future for their children” as the main reasons for wanting to migrate, with the EU cited as the top destination. Family ties remain the main factor preventing many people from leaving home.
