Golestan, located in northern Iran, has a diverse range of tourist attractions and is a major destination for both tourists and nature lovers. The regional capital, Golgan, is characterized by a rich historic fabric, including the well-preserved Esterabad district, famous for its ancient homes, Tekie, Madrasas and mosques.
The iconic Gombad-E Qabus Tower is architecturally important as an exemplary and innovative design of architecture from the early Islamic era. Seen from the long distances in the lowlands around Yorjan, a 53-meter-high Gombad-E Qabus, it is dominated by a modern town of the same name, arranged around the base in the early 20th century.
The unpainted brick brick hollow cylindrical shaft rises from a complex geometric plan in the shape of a 10-point star to a cone-shaped roof. In commemoration of Qabus Ibn voshmir, Ziyarid Ruler and Literati as founders in 1006 AD, we commemorate two inscriptions by Kufic.
As UNESCO stated, the monument testifies to cultural exchanges between the nomads of Central Asia and the ancient civilizations of Iran.
According to the story, the tower has influenced various subsequent designers of tomb towers and other cylindrical memorial structures in both the area and beyond. The eye-catching cone-shaped roof structure boasts intricate geometric principles and patterns that adorn the load-bearing brick sections.
Beyond its historical importance, Golestan offers breathtaking natural scenery, including the lush Alandaré and Naharkhorang forest parks, offering visitors opportunities to hike, picnic and wildlife viewing.
Golestan’s coastal region along the Caspian Sea adds to its charm, offering pristine beaches and scenic views. The state also has several cultural and recreational festivals that celebrate its rich heritage and vibrant community.
