Iranian judicial spokesman Asgal Jahangir announced the number of martyrs from Israeli attacks on Israeli prisons in Tehran and, unfortunately, “In this attack, Zionists committed serious crimes.
Jahangir added that the damage suffered by Evin Prison neighbors included serious material and physical harm. “The Zionist attacks caused extensive financial and physical damage to residents near the Visiting Hall and the Judicial Building. Tragically, among those neighbors, we also have martyrs,” he said.
Speaking about the overall death toll, Jahangir explained that on the day of the attack, several families attended Evin for a visit or to follow up on legal issues with relatives. “Some of our fellow compatriots there were either injured or martyred,” he said.
Jahangir said at the time of this announcement the number of martyrs from Evin’s attack was 71. This includes local residents who have prison management staff, draft soldiers, prisoners and inmates who live adjacent to the prison by visiting or by their families.
“Unfortunately, many individuals were also injured in the incident. Some were treated at the scene, others were taken to hospital, some were hospitalized and then released from hospital after receiving further treatment,” he concluded.
