TEHRAN – About 75,000 Palestinians participated in International Quds Day at the Al Aqsa Mosque despite prayers last Friday in the Holy Month of Ramadan and restrictions imposed by the Israeli occupation soldiers of Al Qud.
This is because the Zionist regime continues to impose serious restrictions on the invasion of worshipers from the West Bank to Al-Kud with the aim of attending Friday’s prayers at the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
From early in the morning, hundreds of Palestinians headed towards Karandiya military checkpoint in northern Al-Kud to 300 checkpoints between the Holy City and Bethlehem to attend prayer.
However, both of these checkpoints witnessed the fierce presence of occupying forces in the area. The occupation forces prevented men under the age of 55 and women under the age of 50 from entering the Al Quds.
Nevertheless, thousands of Palestinians proceeded to Arcudos through these two checkpoints to attend Friday’s prayers.
The Israeli Army also searched for individuals entering the old town of Al-Kud and those entering the gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque, imposing strict restrictions, preventing many Palestinians from accessing the mosque.
Israeli police said they deployed thousands of troops in and around the city. The Israeli Army also confirmed that extensive testing was conducted at the AL-QUDS.
Since the beginning of Ramadan, Israeli forces have put serious restrictions on Palestinians from the West Bank to attend prayer at the Al-Aqsa Mosque. The Army also used the lack of special admissions as an excuse to prevent many Palestinians from taking part in Friday’s prayer, to station many troops at checkpoints between the West Bank and the city.
