A foreign ministry spokesman adds that Iran is reviewing the contents of US President Donald Trump’s letter, and that a decision will be made on how to respond after a thorough evaluation and review.
In response to an IRNA reporter’s question regarding the contents of the US President’s letter to Iran, a foreign ministry spokesperson said, “This letter was received last night and is currently under review.”
Baqayi emphasized that after a thorough evaluation and investigation, decisions on how to respond will be made.
On Wednesday, Foreign Minister Abbas Arakich confirmed the receipt of a letter written by US President Donald Trump, which was delivered by Anwar Gargash, a diplomatic adviser to the President of the United Arab Emirates.
Araqchi made a presentation on his Instagram page on Wednesday night, hours after holding Gargash at Tehran’s Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“This afternoon I hosted Anwar Galgash, a diplomatic advisor to the President of the United Arab Emirates. In addition to discussions on mutual and regional issues, letters from the President of the United States were also accepted,” the top diplomat said.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Foreign Minister told reporters to a cabinet meeting on the sidelines that Arab state representatives should be delivering Trump’s letters to Iran.
On March 7, the US president said in an interview with Fox Business that he wrote a letter to the leader of the Islamic Revolution.
On Wednesday, the leader reiterated that Iran would not negotiate with the US as it would not help it resolve the issue.
