Dafineh Museum Group, managed under the Tehran- Mostazafan Foundation, has completed the reorganization, certification, classification and documentation of all historic artifacts.
In an iconic gesture at a special Saturday ceremony, foundation head Hossain Degan personally returned the final museum work to the museum.
Dehghan personally put the historic ship in a storage box and sealed it off to return to the museum.
Commenting on the outcome, Dehghan highlighted the importance of the initiative, saying, “It was a huge achievement. Everyone should consider establishing a centre for intellectual development…”
Mostazafan Foundation President Hossein Dehan will address the audience at a ceremony in Tehran on March 15th, 2025.
“The TABAR project was designed to improve artifact storage, ensure general authentication of stored objects, create comprehensive archives, classify items based on their importance, determine the amount of storage required, enhance transparency, enhance monitoring, and establish efficient documentation and search mechanisms.”
“Since the establishment of the Museum Institute, the reorganization of the Foundation’s artifacts has become a concern for its management. However, in the last 40 years, the artifacts have not been fully catalogued. Each item only had a code indicating the historical period and the location of the discovery within the (original) museum space,” added Hamidreza Soleimani.
The project was proposed and approved two years ago, but remained unflected, with Dehghan ordering immediate implementation.
“In 2023, the Tabar project was officially defined and approved for implementation for two years, but the leadership delays have stalled progress. Since the foundation head toured the museum’s space this November, he ordered a full implementation.”
Soleimani emphasized the immense project being implemented by experts, archaeologists, art historians, judicial experts and professional photographers.
“A dedicated team conducted extensive research on each artifact, verified its reliability, provided detailed identification records, and another team specialized in photographing all items. Once the certification process was completed, the artifacts were returned to the museum’s storage location.”
It has been confirmed that all artifacts currently housed in the Daffiné Museum Group (many of which have been stored for over 2-30 years) are fully documented, certified, archived, and fully inventory available for future reference.
Additionally, Soleimani announced that efforts are underway to establish a Cultural Heritage Research Center within the Foundation, and that necessary permits are expected to be secured by summer.
