A flame broke out, spreading across the ceiling and roof of the club, and quickly burning.
“The number of victims and the number of injuries sustained in the fire have been determined,” the prosecutor’s office said in a statement.
State agency Mia said at least 50 people have been killed, citing the Home Office.
The agency reported that a fire broke out at Pulse, a small town nightclub with around 30,000 residents during a concert for DNK, the country’s popular hip-hop duo.
The concert, which began in the middle of the night on March 16th, was mainly attended by young people.
Online Media Outlet SDK reported that the fire began at 3am and tallyed more than 100 injured people citing rescue sources.
The injured were taken to a local Kokani Hospital and 30km south of town.
Local media speculated that the fire was probably caused by the use of fireworks equipment. Reuters, AFP
