Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghhai announced that after Tehran completed a thorough review, he would issue an official response to former President Donald Trump’s letter, adding that media speculations were not accurate.
During the last weekly press conference in Iran 1403 (which ends on March 20), Baghey refused to disclose the contents of the letter, but emphasized that it was not significantly different from Trump’s publicly stated position.
He also rejected the link between Abbas Araguchi’s visit to Oman and the letter, making it clear that the trip is related to the development of the region and the recent meeting in Jeddah.
Iran’s responses will be announced through appropriate channels once the survey is completed, he added.
Previously, Iranian President Masuud Pezeshkian sharply condemned the Trump administration’s maximalist approach to Iran, declaring that the Islamic Republic will not negotiate with the United States under threat and coercion, not Ukraine.
