Speaking to Reuters, Jamal Amar said Yemen’s Ansalala would not “dial down” actions against US military pressure and allies such as Iran to transport Israel in the Red Sea.
Jamal Amer spoke with Reuters late Monday after the US launched a wave of strikes in Yemen’s region.
Tehran says the group will make decisions independently. US President Donald Trump said Monday that Iran will be responsible for the attacks committed by the Houtis.
“We will not talk about dial-down operations before we end the Gaza aid lockdown. Iran has not hampered our decisions, but we have to mediate what is happening from time to time, but we can’t decide things.”
Yemeni capital Sanaa said he was not informed of the message that Iran had been delivered to Yemeni envoys in Tehran from Sanaa, which was hit by a US strike.
There was a message from other forces dialing down, but “We know that Yemen is at war with the United States, which means that they have the right to protect themselves in all possible ways.
