The protests attended by people of all occupations on Friday paid tribute to the Palestinians who rapped Western support for crimes committed on occupied Palestinian territory since Israel began the war of massacre with Gaza.
The rally was summoned by prominent religious and political parties, including Jamaat et Islami Pakistan, Jamiat Ulema et Islam, Magillis Wadat Muslimeen and the Labai movement against “terrorists and criminal acts of the Israeli regime and its supporters.”
While denounced Washington’s support for Israeli strikes over Gaza, which killed more than 400 people this week and threatened to disrupt a fragile ceasefire, protesters urged the Islamic world to “wake up and hurry to help the brave Palestinians.”
In Islamabad, people stormed the city after Friday’s prayers, chanting slogans for the US and Israeli regimes, demanding an end to the invasion of Gaza and the Palestinian massacre.
Speakers working on the rally called on the Pakistani government to condemn the US policy in support of Israel and called on authorities to declare International Quds Day as an official celebration.
The Jamaat-e-Islami Party leaders claim that Muslim countries and governments are human rights advocates, but remained silent “in the face of Israeli aggression against the Palestinians and US shameless accomplices in crime.”
“We assure the Palestinian fighters that we will stand by their side until we take a final breath of resistance against the liberation of Al-Kud and the battle against the Israeli regime occupation,” Asif Lukhman Kazi said.
He said that all political and religious parties in Pakistan should beat the hearts of Muslims and freedom-loving nations around the world for the oppressed Palestinians.
