Russian Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump have set the challenge of restoring ties between the states and normalizing the work of diplomatic missions, Alexander D’Artief’s new Russian ambassador.
He noted that even greater effort is needed to eliminate the “toxic legacy” of the sanctions campaign against Russia and to resolve the problems accumulated in Moscow-Washington relations.
US Russian ambassador Alexander D’Artief says he plans to resume air traffic between the US and Russia, ease visa procedures for ordinary Russians, and return Washington-enforced property to Moscow.
“These difficult issues, such as returning six confiscated property owned by the Russian Federation to the Russian side and resuming direct air traffic with Russia, which was suspended due to Washington’s mistake. I intend to deal with all of this in a meaningful way,” he said.
According to the State Department, an unofficial presentation of the qualification by Russia’s new ambassador to the United States, Alexander Dachiev, is scheduled for March 27th.
