Hainan – The major impact of Asia on the global economy is highlighted by the launch of the 2025 Boo Forum (BFA) Annual Conference in China’s Hainan Province.
Notable attendees at the BFA opening ceremony held in Boao town on Thursday included the forum president and former UN Secretary-General, China’s Deputy Prime Minister Din Shwekshun and Mohammad Yunus, chief advisor to the interim government of Bangladeshi.
In his speech, Din, who is also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China’s Central Committee, called for strengthening mutual trust, strengthening cooperation that is beneficial to both sides, promoting economic globalization, protecting the free trade system, and opposing trade protectionism.
He said that the region’s economic integration is being strengthened, and Asia’s share of the global economy is steadily rising.
The Deputy Prime Minister pointed out that solidarity and cooperation need to be strengthened through greater mutual trust.
Ding also emphasized the need to protect tranquility and stability through peaceful coexistence.
Over 1,500 representatives from over 60 countries and regions, including staff, business leaders and academics, attended the BFA opening ceremony.
This year’s conference, which will be held from March 25th to 28th, is based on the theme of “Asia in a Changing World: Towards a Shared Future.”
On Tuesday, the BFA released its Asian Economic Outlook and Integration Progress Annual Report 2025. The GDP ratio of the global Asian economy is expected to increase from 48.1% in 2024 to 48.6% in 2025, calculated by the purchase of electricity parity.
