Regarding a recent call between Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragci and IAEA Chihurafaer Grossi, a senior Iranian diplomat told MEHR news agency that Iran has given Grossi’s preliminary approval for his visit to Tehran.
“In this call, the ongoing development has expressed concerns and expectations and reminded the IAEA of its responsibility towards its member states,” Bagai said. He added that Grossi’s visit to Iran has been agreed, but further negotiations on details and schedule are underway.
Baghaei emphasized that this engagement is part of regular collaboration between Iran and the IAEA, particularly on some notable safety-related issues. He also emphasized that Iran hopes the IAEA will fulfill its legal obligations, particularly in the face of continuing threats to Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities by the US and Israeli regimes.
“The IAEA is obligated to take a clear stance and condemn such threats based on Resolution 533 and other international legal frameworks,” Baghaei pointed out, adding that these topics will be addressed during Grossi’s visit to Tehran.
