Speaking on her weekly presser on Tuesday, Mohajelani said that Iran has always believed in dialogue and that Tehran is ready to engage in talks as long as the other side speaks a language of respect.
“As the Foreign Minister announced, future consultations will be held indirectly in Oman,” she emphasized.
“The most important thing for us in these talks is to protect the national interests and address the important demands of the Iranian people. Mohajerani is underlined and it is too early to comment in advance, adding that further details will become clearer as negotiations unfold.
“As a negotiating party, we approach these talks with an equal footing and a rational mindset, aiming to be a process that protects national interests and improves the situation for the people.”
Earlier on Tuesday, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araguchi announced that Tehran and Washington will engage in high-level indirect negotiations in Oman on Saturday, calling it both a “opportunity and a test” for the US.
