Qatar’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Sunday that the country’s prime minister and foreign minister Mohammed bin bin bin bin Jabbar Thani had called with Seyed Abbas Araguchi, Foreign Minister of Islamic Republic of Iran, whose situation in Gaza was discussed by two sides.
Qatar’s top diplomats also welcomed consultations between Iran and the United States.
Iran’s Foreign Minister also responded to a call from Egypt’s Badr Ahmed Mohamed Abdelatti on Sunday morning, where they discussed and exchanged views on regional development and indirect consultations between Oman and the US.
Egypt’s Foreign Minister pointed to his country’s official statements welcoming Muscat consultations and expressed his hope that those consultations would have a positive outcome.
Araguchi thanked Egypt for his supportive stance and explained Iran’s stance on indirect consultations in Muscat.
The dire humanitarian situation and the continued killing of civilians in Gaza, as well as the need to continue diplomatic efforts to establish a ceasefire were other topics discussed by diplomats in Iran and Egypt.
