He also highlights Baku’s support for the Northern Cyprus Republic of Turkey (TRNC), according to the Anadoru Agency.
Speaking about the bystander of the Antalya Diplomatic Forum, Anadoru’s global communication partner, Bailamov said Armenia must remove territorial claims against Azerbaijan from the constitution and accept the dissolution of the OSCE Minsk group.
“There are important factors that need to be resolved. The most important is Armenia’s constitutional claims on the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. As long as this continues, a peace agreement is not possible. A change to the Armenian constitution is an unnegotiable requirement.”
He added that the Minsk Group, co-chaired by the US, France and Russia, failed to achieve results for 30 years. “The Karabakh problem has been resolved. Karabakh is part of Azerbaijan. Armenia acknowledges this. So why would you insist on keeping the Minsk group alive? We demand a formal dissolution,” he said.
Bailamov criticized Western countries, particularly France, for recognizing double standards.
“For 30 years they had said nothing to the occupying people. When Azerbaijan restored the territorial integrity, they tried to punish us. But their plans fell apart thanks to our independent foreign policy and the strong support of Turkey and our friendly state,” he said.
