Baghaei on Tuesday answered questions regarding the change in venue for future indirect talks, despite previous official announcement that meetings will take place somewhere outside of Oman.
“The change was due to issues related to support and coordination,” said a senior Iranian diplomat.
Recently, several media and officials from European and regional countries reported that a second round of indirect negotiations between Iran and the US will be held in Rome, Italy.
Previously, Baguey announced that a second round of indirect negotiations between Tehran and Washington will take place in Muscat, Oman on Saturday, April 19th, following recent talks.
Rejecting recent speculations about changes in venues, Esmaeil Baghaei revealed that after diplomatic talks it was agreed that Oman would remain the organizer of indirect consultations between Iran and the US.
He emphasized that the second round of negotiations is set for Saturday, April 19th (corresponding to Fabadhan 30 in the Iranian calendar), and will once again be promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Oman.
In its first speech also held in Muscat, the Oman Foreign Ministry played an important mediator and conveyed a message between Iran and the US delegation.
