Aragut spoke alongside his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov at a joint press conference held in Moscow on Friday.
“The willingness to take part in serious negotiations to address only the nuclear issue without falling into other issues can lead us to constructive negotiations,” the Iranian diplomat said.
He added that the US was partially severing in its first round consultations in Oman, “as I said before, if there are no excessive, unrealistic and impractical requests, then an agreement is possible.”
The Iranian minister continued to say that consultations with the US have been indirectly bound by the threat and maximum pressure imposed by Washington, but said “indirect negotiations are not strange and the agreement is within the scope through this method.”
He added that Iran shares news about talks and nuclear negotiations between Russia and China, celebrating Russia’s role in reaching Iran’s 2015 nuclear deal known as the JCPOA.
“Russia is ready to facilitate the negotiation process between Iran and the United States over Tehran’s nuclear program,” Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov said.
