Speaking to Lebanon’s Noor Radio, Haji Wafik Safa, head of the Hezbollah liaison and coordination committee, rejected the recent discourse surrounding the so-called disarming of resistance, describing it as a story promoted online by agitators.
“The term “disarmament” exists only between social media and provocatives,” he said.
“In the cradle of resistance I say: Everything you hear is piloted. Don’t shake them up. Power cannot disarm us,” the official added.
For decades, Hezbollah’s weapons have proven essential defensive firepower in the face of constant, indiscriminate Israeli attacks and the regime’s ambition to occupy more Lebanese territory than the country’s Shebaa farm.
The group forced the regime to effectively deploy armaments and defeat humiliating hideouts on both occasions, in the face of the Israeli wars of 2000 and 2006.
In October 2023, when the regime began to significantly intensify deadly attacks on the country, the movement successfully staged hundreds of retaliatory attacks on occupied Palestinian territory, in addition to blocking many Israeli military invasions.
