“Today, in the historic city of Rome, a second round of indirect consultations will be held between #iran and #UnitedStates, mediated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Oman,” Esmaeil Baghaei wrote in X.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran has always demonstrated with sincerity and responsibility, a commitment to diplomacy to diplomacy as a civilized way to resolve the issue, fully respecting the high interests of the Iranian state.”
“We know it’s not a smooth road, but we take every step with every eye and rely on past experiences.”
Speaking to Moscow reporters on Friday, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragut said Tehran had received contradictory messages from the US and claimed Iran was committed to indirect negotiations and was consistent.
“The reality is that we receive contradictory and inconsistent messages from the United States. The meaning of those messages and the purpose they pursue are their concerns. From our perspective, from our perspective, what is important is what we say in the (indirect and mediated) negotiation table: the benchmark.
“In response to these messages, we have clearly and seriously conveyed our position. Iran is completely committed to these negotiations. Our stance is clear and we have made equally clear to the other side. Our words remain the same every day.
