BEIRUT – A definitive speech by Hezbollah’s executive director, Sheikh Name Kassim, remove the idea of disarming resistance from the dictionary later on Friday.
Sheikh Naeem Qasim explained this to those who are cheating themselves by deliberately ignoring that the weapons of resistance should not be the subject of media debate or political responsibility!
The Secretary of Hezbollah’s executive director emphasized that Hezbollah’s legal weapons are in the hands of wise leadership who will not abandon the sacrifices of martyrs, especially after the number of Israeli violations of ceasefire agreements exceeds 3,000, and hundreds of martyrs and injured.
Even when Israeli enemies fired an airstrike in the southern suburbs of Beirut in late March, West Asia’s Deputy US Envoy Morgan Ortags explicitly defended the brutal invasion as “legitimate self-defense”!
Furthermore, Secretary-General Hezbollah emphasized that the hostile actions and rhetoric of the Lebanese Pro Israel team are clear betrayal.
Sheikh Qasim’s speech misdepicted them as the root of Lebanon’s ramp-raising crisis in response to an unprecedented, systematic campaign targeting legitimate weapons of resistance.
This is part of the battle for consciousness aimed at weakening Lebanon and turning it into a nation under the mercy of American leadership.
The Secretary-General argued that Hezbollah’s weapons are not a means of seizing power, even in luxury, but intended to protect all Lebanese people and maintain dignity in an age of humiliation and conquest.
Sheikh Qasim emphasized that the best martyrs of Lebanon rose to protect this correct resistance, and immeasurable sacrifices were made to perpetuate it.
Without a doubt, the natural norms of fighting for resistance are sometimes immeasurable victory, sometimes painful experiences. However, this does not negate the legitimacy of the weapon or eliminate the important need for resistance.
Sheikh Qassem’s message is that anyone who truly seeks Lebanon’s interests should come to the dialogue table to discuss a comprehensive national security strategy that identifies friendly and hostile states and examine a unified vision to protect Lebanon’s sovereignty from all threats.
Last March, State Department spokesman Tammy Bruce said, “As part of the suspension of hostilities agreements, the Lebanese government is responsible for disarming Hezbollah. The Lebanese military hopes to disarm these terrorists and prevent further hostilities.”
In parallel, Washington is also using international institutions to put pressure on Lebanon. It has repeatedly suggested that aid to Lebanon is conditioned to even disarm Hezbollah and normalisation of Israel.
On his part, Lebanese military leader Samir Giagea threatened not to participate in the state’s dialogue on weapons of resistance, as he believes this is a “waste of time.” Rather, Geagea believes that disarmament is immediate and must be implemented within six months.
This systematic campaign targeting Lebanese resistance focuses on two main axes: questioning the story of resistance and the legitimacy of its existence, and challenging the legitimacy of weapons.
Furthermore, it deliberately ignores the fact that resistance emerged as a natural and legal response to Israel’s occupation of Lebanese territory. This is a fundamental right guaranteed by international law and humanitarian treaties.
