TEHRAN – Sheikh Naim Qassem on Friday night reaffirmed Hezbollah’s commitment to armed resistance and declared that the weapons of the resistance have contributed to the liberation of Lebanon’s territory and remained integral to national defense. Citing Imam Sayed Musa al-Sadr, he said “it is an obligation to carry weapons to protect the nation,” and vowed to resist efforts to disarm the group and to evoke past conflicts with Israeli attacks as justification.
Speaking on Almanar’s television about defence strategies, the Director-General of Hezbollah showed that resistance was a response to occupation, expanding to grab land and impose commonalities of fait.
Sheikh Qassem claimed that Hezbollah believed in resistance from a religious and national perspective to liberate occupied territory, Almanor said on its website.
He emphasized that “Israel” is an expansionist who is not limited to occupying Palestine, adding that Israel’s ambitions include rule over all of Lebanon.
Lebanon’s resistance had achieved great results in the face of Israeli occupation, the Hezbollah chief noted that the occupation would not have ended without resistance.
During the recent war, the Resistance Fighters were able to prevent Israeli occupation forces, supported by the US and other Western countries, from entering the Ritani River despite being seriously injured.
He said the outcome of the war cannot be measured by the number of buildings destroyed, but by enemy targets frustrated by fighters of resistance.
The Zionist entity is that Hezbollah wants to be disarmed. Because they plan to control the entire Lebanon and build new settlements and naturalize the displaced Palestinians, Sheikh Kasem said.
“Israel” wants Lebanon to be weak in order to carry out its plans, he pointed out.
Sheikh Qassem showed that Hezbollah gives him the opportunity to not be free to diplomacy, pointing out that Israeli enemies have violated ceasefires 2,700 times, raids, killing people, and more.
Sheikh Qassem also added that those who think Hezbollah is weak are delusional and that resistance is dependent on God and the most honorable people, so they fear nothing.
Hezbollah has many options to rely on at the right time to face Israeli violations, Sheikh Qassem asserted.
Sheikh Qassem adds that the most important issue facing Lebanon is the occupation of Israel, suggesting that expelling it is a priority for the noble people of Lebanon.
He also criticized those who portrayed Hezbollah as the root of the problem, saying, “Lebanon’s incongruous voice portrays resistance as the main cause of the problem.”
He said the Lebanese people seeking to disarm Hezbollah are serving Israel’s interests.
Israeli enemy could not disarm Hezbollah across the entire army, Sheikh Qassem said, warning that “we will not disarm any resistance.”
He claimed that “the weapons released the occupied territory and protected the country.”
The Secretary-General emphasized that Hezbollah will fight disarming resistance just as he faced “Israel.”
He said that Imam Sayed Massa al-Sadr was obligated to hold arms to protect the nation.
Sheikh Naim repeated his loyalty that the martists say Hasan Nasrara to protect the weapons of resistance.
He also said the text of the ceasefire agreement between “Israel” and Hezbollah provides that its implementation is limited to the south of the Ritani River.
He recalled that UN Resolution 1701 mandates enemy enemies to withdraw from all Lebanese territory and stop their attacks.
The Hezbollah chief also said that in order to discuss defense strategies, one must benefit from all sources of state power.
He also said that Hezbollah may never accept consultations on defense strategies through the media, adding that President Joseph Aung could call for dialogue after Israelis withdraw from Lebanese lands and its invasion, release of Lebanese prisoners and launching a reconstruction project.
He argued that Hezbollah had fully adhered to the terms of the ceasefire contract and added, “Let Israel do its part and the Lebanese state perform its part.”
“Defence strategies are not about disarming resistance, but rather diplomatic, economic and military-level discussions of integrated defense policy.”
Sheikh Qassem asked the government to submit the issue of reconstruction on its agenda and develop a plan.
The Hezbollah chief called on Lebanese officials to refuse US directions and vowed to support the government’s decision to face Zionist occupation militarily.
Elsewhere, Sheikh Qassem added that Hezbollah rejects US hegemony that supports “Israel” as a cancerous gland, and that Americans must respect Lebanon’s sovereignty and dignity.
“In the face of the US, we’re with you,” he suggested.
Sheikh Qassem also called on the judiciary to hold those who made abusive remarks against the highest Islamic Shia councils accountable because they are considered violations of the institution.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Sheikh Qasem said Hezbollah hopes that the Iranian-US consultations will result in positive outcomes, but all results are possible.
Finally, Sheikh Qassem welcomed Yemen’s stance on “Israel” in support of Gaza, greeting the head of Yemen’s Ansarla movement.
