Russia has expressed support for the launch of negotiations between Iran and the United States, emphasizing that all issues related to Iran’s nuclear program should be addressed through diplomatic channels.
“I am confident that all issues related to Iran’s nuclear program and the JCPOA (Co-Comprehensive Plan of Action) should only be resolved through political and diplomatic means,” said Dmitry Peskov.
Peskov emphasized that Russia considers peaceful solutions to Iran’s nuclear questions a priority and is ready to make every effort to promote the negotiation process, Tass reported.
The second round of indirect consultations between the Iranians and the US delegation took place in Rome on Saturday. The discussion was led by Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araguchi and US Special Envoy Stephen Witkov, with Oman bin Hamad bin Hamud Al Busadi serving as mediator.
