Tehran – Analysts suggest that Donald Trump’s commitment to prioritizing the concerns of the American people and ending our involvement in foreign conflicts was a key factor in his return to office. However, his domestic recovery and diplomatic pursuits can be at risk by individuals within his own inner circle.
When he began occupying the White House again in January, Trump ousted his administration of many individuals who felt he hadn’t served him during his first term, including prominent figures like Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and national security adviser John Bolton. However, his alternatives, Marco Rubio and Michael Waltz, tend to defend policies that could lead to costs and destructive conflict, if not more.
The US says there are three major rivals around the world: China, Russia and Iran. So far, Trump has been on a conflicting path with Beijing, launching a tariff war with the world’s second largest economy, breaking traditional American stances against Moscow, sought peace with Vladimir Putin, leaving his first inertia in the content of his deal with Iran, and engaged in new negotiations on Tearan’s nuclear program. These new indirect debates address Iran’s nuclear activities solely. Trump escaped from the nuclear deal signed during his first term in 2015, as he believed that restrictions on Iran should also be included. Pompeo and Bolton are believed to have played a central role in creating this president’s belief.
Sources told the Tehran Times that Rubio and Waltz are actively working to derail talks with Iran, which is approaching the third round. Instead of pursuing dialogue and potential diplomatic solutions, they believe that America should quickly move towards war with Tehran and attack nuclear sites, and possibly oil refineries.
Their efforts to reduce diplomacy primarily focus on lightly paring current groups of American negotiators and questioning Tehran’s intentions and official positions that have shown no indication of contradiction over the past decade.
In their efforts, the two senior officials are also removing low-ranking figures against their warming. Dan Caldwell, a Marine Corps veteran who advises the Secretary of Defense until recently, says he was fired from his position because he opposed the war with Iran. He claims he was not responsible for the leaks used as justification for his purge.
“The war with Iran runs the risk of being extremely expensive in terms of life in the Middle East and the dollar,” Caldwell told a well-known American reporter during an interview. “So you could see the catastrophe in the form of potentially global depression, but it was the trigger for the deaths of many Americans in the area and the war here with Iran.”
Iran says it will result in a catastrophic response when it comes to attacks on its profits. In March, the Tehran Times was said to have been loaded with missiles into launchers.
“People like Rubio and Waltz work for Israel’s interests than the US. They have very deep ties with Zionists and AIPAC. It has been revealed that the Waltz worked directly for the Israeli army.” The two officials hope that Washington will fight Israeli war. Israel has devastating consequences for both the US and the world, he added.
“At this point, hardlines and Hawkish factions within the Trump administration, known for their belligerent rhetoric, have not managed to convince Trump to launch a war with Iran,” the expert said. “But there is no guarantee that this will remain an incident.”
During his first term of president, Pompeo persuaded Qassem Soleimani, the top general of the Iranian army, to assassinate him. This led to the first attack on American bases since World War II, causing “stolen the brains” of dozens of American soldiers stationed in Iraq. The assassination also failed to affect Iran’s relationship with regional resistance in a meaningful way.
While making his pledge in January this year, Trump said he plans to become the president of “peace.” But that may depend heavily on whether he can change course this time.
