President Masuud Pezeshkian emphasized not only the cultural and religious commonalities between Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan, but also the long-standing shared history, saying that relations between the two countries are based on deep and enduring friendships.
The coordination meeting to confirm the topic for discussion between Iran and Azerbaijan took place on Wednesday ahead of President Pezeshkian’s trip to Baku.
Azerbaijan and Iran are inseparable parts of the same body, and people on both sides of the border share broad mutual benefits rooted in deep friendship, Pezeshkian said.
He added that the two countries enjoy great potential for bilateral collaboration.
At the opening of the meeting, Mehdi Sanaei, the political adviser to the Iranian president, released a report on the latest developments in the interaction and the current level of relations with Azerbaijan.
He also outlined the most important existing opportunities for expanding bilateral relations.
