On the second day of Tehran’s visit to Moscow, Russian Minister of Culture, Orgalibimova met with Deputy Minister of Culture and Meet with the head of an Iranian film organization.
Liuvimova expressed his delight in participating in Faritza Day’s Eurasian Film Academy program at the start of a conference aimed at exploring ways to expand cultural, artistic and cinematic cooperation between the two countries, Honaronlein reported.
Emphasizing years of successful collaborations between Iranian and Russian filmmakers, she said: “Over the past decades, Iranian filmmakers have had a prominent presence at Russian festivals and have won numerous awards.”
She also mentions Russian Cultural Week, scheduled to be held in Iran in Tehran and Isfahan in June, and will lead the Russian cultural delegation during the programme.
The Russian Minister of Culture welcomed the revival of the Cultural Committee under the Iran-Russia Joint Cooperation Committee and expressed his gratitude for Iran’s support for Russia in the BRICS group. Iran has also been invited to participate in the Kazan Cultural Summit, which will be held on May 15th and 16th.
On his part, Faritzede delivered a greeting from the Iranian Minister of Culture, highlighting the influence of Russian culture and literature, particularly the works and adaptations of figures like Dostoevsky and Chekhov in Iranian films and theatres.
He announced that Iran is ready to help establish the BRICS Film, Media and Education Coalition, and proposed to hold a conference along with the International Film Festival for Isfahan’s children and youth.
Speaking at the conference, Kazem Jalali highlighted the fundamental role of cultural relations in strengthening political ties between nations, referring to the cultural provisions in the 20-year strategic agreement between Iran and Russia. He proposed to establish a Russian Cultural Centre in Iran.
