TEHRAN – On Friday, April 25th, 2025, a day of unprecedented global action took place as thousands of activists and supporters gathered to surround US embassies around the world, bringing together thousands of activists and supporters to demonstrate strong solidarity with Gaza.
This historic mobilization began in Gaza. Gaza has endured more than 18 months of indomitable attacks characterized by its organizers, gaining support for US arms and political support that seriously affected the community.
“Global Day to Besiege the US Embassy” was directly aimed at the heart of international decision-making, targeting the US as a major enabler of ongoing violence. Protesters called for the immediate end of US military and political support for Israeli attacks, accountability for war crimes and suspension of arms and cargo that promotes conflict.
The demonstrations took place across multiple continents, reflecting broad international solidarity with Gaza. In North America, major cities such as Washington, DC, New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, Dallas, Chicago, Montreal and Ottawa have witnessed major protests outside of US embassies and consulates.
Organized by groups such as the Palestinian Youth Movement, the US Palestinian Community Network and other solidarity organizations, these gatherings called for an arms embargo and an end to the genocide of US support.
Europe also saw significant mobilization, particularly outside the US embassy in London. There, activists highlighted Western accomplices during the Gaza crisis.
Latin America joined the global chorus at demonstrations in Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Venezuela, Colombia, Cuba, Honduras and Panama. A diverse group of people, including Indigenous organizations, teacher unions and social rights networks, participated and staged the protests in front of us throughout the region.
In the Middle East, Yemen held national rally in Sanaa’s main square, denounced US aggression and expressed solidarity with the Palestinians.
When the world witnessed these extensive protests, the US embassy siege represented a direct conflict with sources of military and political support for the siege of Gaza.
The global solidarity movement aims to maintain international attention, focus on humanitarian catastrophes, and call for urgent policy changes to end the suffering of millions of Gaza.
