Three Russian aircraft (two heavy hydro bombers and one crisis command aircraft) have arrived at Bandar Abbas to participate in the fire service.
According to a news agency correspondent at Mehr, the plane landed at Bandar Abbas International Airport a few minutes ago as part of international cooperation to tackle a massive fire at Shahid Rajaee port.
Shortly after landing, the plane was stationed and ready to carry out air fire operations. Firefighting operations in the airborne are expected to resume in the coming hours to accelerate containment and prevent further fires from spreading.
Eyewitnesses and teams present at the scene have significantly reduced the intensity of the fire compared to the earlier times of the incident, and a noticeable decrease in smoke levels is a sign of progress thanks to the relentless efforts of firefighters.
However, experts warn that given the size of the affected area, it may still take some time for complete disappearance. With the arrival of Russian aircraft and the 24-hour continuous efforts of firefighters, it is expected that the flames at Shahydrajae Port will be fully contained today.
