On Tuesday, Yemen’s Al Masilah television network said it was expected that the Director of the Ministry of Defense and its accompanying vessels will be departing the area imminently.
The source said, “We have not ruled out Truman’s direct attacks on recent businesses and hope to leave the operational theatre at any time.”
The military argued responsibility for Monday’s attacks, describing them in response to previous US airstrikes on Yemen, which resulted in civilian casualties.
The military statement details a joint operation that includes naval units, drones and missile forces, targeting Truman and his escorts with cruises and ballistic missiles. This operation forced the vessel to retreat north in the Red Sea.
In related developments, the US Navy F/A-18E Super Hornet Warplane fell into the Red Sea from USS Harry S. Truman during evasive operations to avoid a fire.
As the ship made a sharp turn, the jet was towed by the hangar deck, causing the aircraft and its towing tractor to fly overboard.
At the potential departure, Truman was not the first American aircraft carrier to leave the region amid Yemen’s retaliation.
The US has significantly increased its fatal attacks on Yemen last month as a way to stop the strike against Israel and Israel-related targets by Yemeni forces.
The forces have been set in operations since October 2023, when the Israeli regime began a massively supported genocide war against the Gaza Strip.
They have always emphasized their resolve to continue targeting US military assets, including naval assets in the Red Sea and Arabian Sea, until attacks on Yemen stop.
The military also repeatedly emphasizes that operations will continue as long as the Israeli regime maintains genocide and maintains the simultaneous siege that is unfolding against Gaza.
