Yemen’s Humanitarian Operations Coordination Centre (HOCC) said in a press conference on Saturday that anti-US sanctions will be effective as of May 17th.
The HOCC executive director said the ban was collected and killed and injured hundreds of people, including women and children, as “an enemy of America” continues to launch attacks on various Yemeni provinces, targeting civilian and civilian objects.
“The Yemeni people, their infrastructure and their capabilities to siege Zemen in an attempt to siege Yemeni people, their infrastructure and their capabilities, which are considered one of the most heinous massacres against humanity, just as the US enemy previously targeted the RAS ISA oil port in Al Hedidada Province on April 17, 2025, and targeted private facilities, workers and employees,” the statement said.
“Therefore, a decision has been made to ban the export, re-export, transfer, load, purchase or sale of US crude oil (HS code 2709.00).
The HOCC chief warned that companies violating the new oil export ban will be added to the list of invaders against Yemen, and that vessels owned or operated by such companies will also be denied passing through water supplies in important regions such as the Red Sea, Bab al-Mandab Strait, the Gulf of Aden, the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean.
The press conference added that exemptions will be considered for humanitarian purposes or for countries and businesses opposed to US policies by submitting requests to the Yemeni government.
