Condemning Sunday’s drone attacks on Port Sudan’s city’s airports and civilian facilities, he expressed concern about the ongoing attacks on civilian urban facilities, including power plants, hospitals, water treatment plants and civilian airports, and called for an end to the attack on civilians.
Referring to the major disasters of Sudan’s evacuation and hunger, a spokesman for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the international community, international organizations and agencies to halt conflict and fulfill their obligation to send humanitarian aid to the Sudanian people.
At least 11 people were killed in a Nile River evacuation camp on April 26th, authorities said, allegedly attacked by Sudan’s rapid support forces (RSF).
In a statement later on Friday, the local governor said, according to Al Jazeera, the fourth attack since the war between the RSF and Sudanese forces began two years ago, knocking out a nearby power plant.
The attack marks a fatal escalation in the ongoing conflict, with 23 more injured, medical officials said. Witnesses said at least nine children were among the injured.
Over the past few months, the RSF has been accused of attacking power infrastructure in central and northern Sudan’s Sudanese military-controlled areas.
The RSF, led by Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, known as Hemedti, has refused to carry out a drone attack.
