Tehran – Yemeni forces have stormed Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion airport, declaring the airport “no longer safe.”
Yemeni Army spokesman Brigadier General Yahiya Sali confirmed that the missile had accurately attacked its target. He pointed out that both Israel and the American air defense system were unable to intercept it.
Surry stressed that the strike led to a complete halt of airport operations for more than an hour, pushing millions of Israelis into shelters.
After the strike, Yemeni military repeatedly warned all international airlines, declaring it unsafe airspace to avoid flights to Ben Gurion Airport.
Israeli media reported that the missile landed near Terminal 3, producing thick smoke, halting all takeoffs and landings, and destroying local train services. Several injuries were also reported.
Unsuccessful intercept attempts have led to air sirens raids throughout central Israeli regions. Israeli media cited the source saying missiles would overwhelm the defense system and would persuade civilians to seek shelter.
Channel 12 cited an Israeli security assessment that confirmed that the Arrow 3 and the US-provided Thaad missile defense system could not intercept the projectile.
The Israeli outlet admitted that “no air defense system provides 100% protection regardless of refinement.”
The report says the impact of the missile created a crater that was 25 metres deep near the airport at LOD. Images of the aftermath spread throughout Western media platforms.
Military experts believe that the missiles used are newly developed models. The regional report highlights Yemen’s recent strengthening of strategic missile arsenals. This includes radar evacuation capabilities and an upgraded air defense system.
Despite facing continuous attacks, Yemeni forces are believed to be expanding their stockpile of Hi-sonic missiles, along with advances in drones and naval weapons.
At the same time, Yemen confirmed another drone strike using YAFA drones targeting major Israeli sites in the Ashkelon region.
The Yemeni military said their operations would continue as part of their “religious and humanitarian duties to the Palestinian people.”
Mahdi al-Mashat, director of Yemen’s Chief Political Council, said Sanaa “indirectly warned Americans” about the escalation, but their warnings were ignored under the false belief that the US defense system would provide protection.
In response to the strike, Hamas praised Yemen for its “blessed attack” deep within Israel, calling it a reflection of Yemen’s unwavering commitment to the Palestinian cause.
The resistance campaign praised Yemen’s leadership and the courage of its people, expressed full solidarity and called on Arab and Islamic countries to fulfill their moral responsibility in supporting Palestine.
Al-Qassam Brigade spokesman Abu Obeida praised Yemen for “ignoring the power of oppression and “infiltrating the world’s most advanced defense system.”
He spoke directly to the people of Yemeni. “You are a member of us, we are a member of you. May God guide your strike and accept your sacrifice.”
Palestinian Islamic jihad also praised the operation and honored Yemen’s courage and indomitable support for Gaza amidst the intense sacrifices.
The Popular Front of Palestine Liberation (PFLP) describes the precision strike at Ben Gurion Airport as “a qualitative leap in Yemen’s response,” reflecting the unification of Gaza and Sanaa. The group highlighted the operational message. Israeli and American military defenses are becoming increasingly vulnerable.
The Resistance Committee reflected this view, highlighting the “failure of US aggression against Yemen” and praised Yemen’s technological advances as leading a new phase of resistance.
The Mujahideen movement also welcomed the operation as a “strategic Yemeni strike” that overwhelmed the joint Zionist-American defense system. The group called on Arab countries to break silence and follow Yemeni lead, defending the Islamic world and the Palestinian people.
