The reporter asked the US leader if he was planning to meet his Russian counterparts during his planned trip. “I don’t know, we have to think about it. I’m not thinking about it,” Trump replied.
“We’re going to be heading for Saudi Arabia soon,” the US leader added.
Previously, U.S. State Department spokeswoman Tammy Bruce said communication between Russian and American leaders is necessary for the issue of solving the Ukraine crisis. Putin and Trump held a telephone conversation on March 18th, during which they discussed 30-day ceasefire in the Ukrainian conflict, conditions to prevent escalation, and many international issues. The Russian leader agreed to Trump’s proposal that parties to the Ukrainian conflict would mutually refrain from attacking energy infrastructure facilities.
Trump previously acknowledged that he could hold a meeting with Russian leaders after a trip to the West Asia region, visiting Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates between May 13th and 16th.
