Moscow is deeply concerned about the rising military tensions between India and Pakistan following the Pahargam terrorist attacks, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said he has commented on the latest escalation between India and Pakistan.
“We are deeply concerned with the growing military tensions between India and Pakistan following the terrorist attacks near the town of Pahargam,” the diplomat said.
According to Zakharova, “Russia has firmly condemned the act of terrorism, which opposes its symptoms and emphasizes the need to join forces worldwide for an effective fight against this evil.”
“We are calling on those involved to exercise restraints to prevent the local situation from escalating,” the diplomat continued. “We hope that the latest conflict between New Delhi and Islamabad will be resolved through peaceful political and diplomatic means on a bilateral basis, in accordance with the provisions of the 1972 Shimla Agreement and the 1999 Lahore Declaration,” she concluded.
