At the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping will pay a state visit to Russia from Wednesday to Saturday, attending in Moscow, celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Soviet Union’s victory in the Great Patriotic War.
More than 80 years ago, people from China, the Soviet Union and other countries fought side by side, securing victory in the World Anti-Fascist War and opening a new chapter in human history.
As the world invisible to the century is undergoing facilitating changes, the international community is facing common challenges and demanding greater global efforts to build communities with a shared future.
XI’s upcoming visits are expected to inject new momentum into a comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination for the new era. It further demonstrates the commitment of two major countries to protect the outcome of their WWII victory, support international equity and justice, and work with other parts of the world to maintain world peace and stability.

History and reality show that China and Russia are good neighbors who cannot escape, and true friends who share Weal and Woe, support each other and achieve common development, Xi said in a telephone conversation with Putin in February.

Contributions that will never disappear
More than 80 years ago, China and Russia as major battlefields of Asia and Europe during World War II made a tremendous sacrifice and indelible contribution to their ultimate victory.
In a signed article published by the Russian Official Gazette newspaper prior to his 2015 visit to Russia, XI cited Russian historian Vasily Klyuchevsky.
The bitter lessons drawn from World War II have taught humanity that the weak, the laws of the jungle, war or hegemonic policies, all the ideas of winners, and that zero-sum games do not benefit humanity’s coexistence, peace and development.
