The head of Syrian Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham (HTS)-led regime confirmed “indirect” negotiations with the Israeli regime, which he aimed to prevent, amid a constant military attack on Syria in Tel Aviv.
At a joint press conference with French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris on Wednesday, Abu Mohamed Al-Jollani stressed the urgency of consultations to avoid a scenario in which the situation becomes “out of control.”
He also said the administration would reach out to countries with established ties to the administration and ask the latter to stop the attack.
Also on Wednesday, Reuters reported that the United Arab Emirates had established a back channel to promote indirect consultations. Last month, Joranni traveled to Emirates. Emirates officially tied up Tel Aviv after signing an agreement via the US in 2020.
He called the military escalation of the regime in Syria a “violation” between Damascus and Tel Aviv in 1974. The contract was signed after the latter seized Golan Heights in Syria during a Western-backed war seven years ago.
