The chairman of Qatar Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Jamal’s Directorate General Meeting held a meeting with the head of Tehran’s Islamic Customs Bureau (Irika) on Sunday to discuss issues of bilateral relations and mutual interest.
Referring to the friendly relations between the two neighbouring countries, the Irika chief explained that the Qatar Customs delegation’s visit to Iran is extremely important.
During the meeting, Irica Chief for Asgari, who is also the Deputy Minister of Economy, explained to the visiting Qatar delegation on the activities and performance of Iranian customs.
The Qatar Customs Board Chairman praised Iran’s digitalization of customs in his part, adding that Qatar has made its relations with Iran’s Islamic Republic very important in all regions, particularly in the customs sector.
Ahmed bin Abdullah al-Jamal considered upstream policies at the political and diplomatic level as a good opportunity to develop customs cooperation.
They also agreed to hold regular joint visits to ports and customs in the two countries as well as regular meetings with high-ranking customs officials in Iran and Qatar.
