Iran’s Deputy Minister of Political Affairs Majid Tak Ravanchi and Japanese neighboring foreign minister Nishimura held deputy consultations between Japan and Iran’s Deputy Minister.
At the meeting, both sides exchanged honest views on Iran’s nuclear issue, regional issues, bilateral relations between Japan and Iran, and other issues.
Referring to the importance and long history of the mechanisms of the Iran-Japan Conference Council, Takht-Ravanchi highlighted Iran’s preparation to strengthen bilateral relations in all areas of mutual interest, including the fields of economic, scientific, technical and cultural people.
Deputy Minister Catfish placed emphasis on the efforts of both countries’ senior officials to maintain and strengthen historic and friendly relations between the two countries, noting the interest of Japanese economic enterprises in having a positive presence in Iran and the need for efforts to promote operations.
The Iranian Deputy Minister also described his Japanese counterparts on the latest developments related to Iran’s indirect negotiation process and Iran’s efforts to stand up to indirect Iran and illegal US sanctions.
Japanese diplomats welcomed the recent consultations between the US and Iran, emphasizing the importance of progress in dialogue with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and further cooperation, saying it is essential for Iran to take constructive and concrete action to advance towards a peaceful resolution of the nuclear issue.
Deputy Minister of Catfish also said Japan is continuing its diplomatic efforts towards peace and stability in the Middle East region.
The two sides confirmed that they will continue multi-layered dialogue between Japan and Iran on regional issues, bilateral relations and other issues.
