Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei has offered to celebrate the day of Ferdowsi, which was observed on the 25th of the Iranian calendar Ordibehesht, which will be held on May 15th this year.
Baghaei wrote on Thursday in his X account that if language is the lifeline of the nation, Ferdowsi saved the very existence of Iran.
He described Feldousi as a resurrector of Iranian identity and spirit, and a teacher of wisdom and intelligence.
He said in a challenging era, Feldousi wanted words to illuminate the Beacon of Enlightenment, and to cleverly blend epic storytelling and wisdom to gain strength.
Feldousi became the savior of ancient civilizations and their identity, and instilled hope in words.
The great Persian poet Feldousi (940–1020 AD) is best known for his Magnum Opus, Shahname (The King’s Book), a magnificent masterpiece that includes over 60,000 verses. Composed for over 30 years, this literary wonder is considered the cornerstone of Persian and literature. It preserves historical, cultural and mythical stories that define the heritage of ancient Iran.
