Minister of Communications and Information Technology Sattar Hashemi, who traveled to Beijing with the official invitation of Chinese counterpart Li Lecheng, emphasizes the importance of strengthening technical cooperation between the two countries.
During the meeting, the two highlighted the expansion of bilateral collaboration, particularly in artificial intelligence, industrial wise, communication infrastructure development and human resource training.
Hashemi describes China as Iran’s strategic partner and ally, highlighting the need to deepen relations following the meeting of leaders, who are bystanders at the summit held in Kazan, Russia from October 22-24, 2024.
His visit to China also included tours of exhibitions and digital innovation centres.
Technical diplomacy as a roadmap for technical engagement with the Iranian world, particularly neighboring countries and allies, focuses on strengthening the country’s international technological status, promoting knowledge exchange, attracting foreign investment, and leveraging its global capabilities to develop a domestic technological ecosystem.
Referring to the 2025 Iran-China strategic cooperation agreement, Hashemi expressed his hopes to accelerate implementation in the ICT sector with a fresh, goal-oriented approach.
Hashemi also exchanged experience in the field of e-government and smart services, highlighting the educational cooperation and training of professional talent.
Meanwhile, Li highlighted the historic and friendly relations between the two countries, with Iran explaining one of Beijing’s most important regional partners and calling for greater cooperation in the technical field.
He developed bilateral cooperation and provided China’s preparation to implement the provisions of the five-year strategic cooperation document.
Intensifying technical cooperation not only contributes to the national interests of both countries, but also plays an effective role in fostering technological interactions in the region.
