British police have indicted three Iranian citizens of national security crimes following a counterterrorism investigation.
The three men arrested on Saturday, May 3 were charged with “engaging in conduct that could support a foreign intelligence reporting agency” between August 14, 2024 and February 16, 2025, London Metropolitan Police said in a statement on Saturday.
The man, ages 39 to 55, was named by police Mastafa Sepahvand, Farhad Javadi Manesh and Shapoor Qalehali Khani Noori.
They are accused of engaging in surveillance and reconnaissance, and one man was charged with intent to commit “serious violence against British people,” the statement outlined.
The UK Prosecutor’s Office charged the man on Friday and is scheduled to appear in Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Saturday. The investigation is being led by the UK counterterrorism police.
