No survivors were confirmed by Estonian Foreign Ministry, local ERR News reported.
After 12:30pm on Saturday, the Satakunta Rescue Service received a report from a road near Eura Airfield that two helicopters had collided into the air and hit the ground, reported Finland’s daily Helsinate Sanomato (Finnish link) and public broadcaster YLE.
Police say a total of five people were on a four-seater Robinson R44 Ravenlight helicopter at the time of the crash.
Based on unconfirmed reports, no survivors were found in the collision, Margus Sergrep, director of consular support at the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said at a press conference on Saturday evening. Finnish police are working to identify the victims.
Several Estonian media reported that they included Estonian businessmen Oleg Snayarg and Priit Jagant. The names of the other passengers have not been made public yet.
The helicopter was on its way from Tallinn to Pikajalvi Airfield in Kokemaki at the time of the collision.
Rescuers found a helicopter that had collapsed in a woodland about 100 metres away. Finnish authorities initially refused to provide information about possible casualties.
