Faroud Asgali, Deputy Minister of Economic and Finance (MEAF), also spoke at the 26th Customs Directors Meeting from the Asia-Pacific region in Hong Kong on Monday, highlighting Iran’s willingness to strengthen regional cooperation.
“The conference provides an important platform for cooperation and progress and is in good harmony with the 2025 theme of the World Customs Agency: “Customers engaged in fostering efficiency, security and prosperity,” he emphasized.
Asgari stressed that in a rapidly evolving landscape of globalization and trade, customs authorities must commit to promoting legitimate commercial transactions, ensuring the security of borders and promoting economic prosperity.
The IRICA chief reiterated Iran’s commitment to join local efforts to enhance trade facilitation, promote digital innovation and promote information sharing.
“Together, we can streamline the customs process, fight illegal trade and ensure that our communities and economies flourish while ensuring our communities and economies flourish while also fighting for security in our supply chains,” he said.
He described the conference as a valuable opportunity to align national strategy with the goals of the World Customs Organization (WCO), share best practices and fake partnerships that shape the future of customs operations.
Asgari called on customs leaders from WCO members to engage in constructive dialogue, urging them to explore innovative solutions that can increase efficiency and resilience across the region.
