At the second ministerial meeting of the OIC-15 Dialogue Platform held in Tehran on May 19, bin Abdulqadir considered ethics to be the most dangerous challenge of AI systems in today’s world.
He further emphasized the importance of using expert skills to inject ethics into AI.
The Minister touched on close cooperation between other universities around the world and Malaysian universities, highlighting the development of appropriate systems to build the foundation of the ethics-based of AI through easy accessibility to all countries and cultures.
“We cannot create long-term programs, but we also need to address immediate concerns.”
The first-ever multilateral document on artificial intelligence was reviewed and approved at an international event in Tehran, which attracted ministers and representatives from over 20 Islamic countries.
The summit concluded with a call for broader cooperation in scientific and technological development to achieve effective governance and policy alignment, in the hopes of the participation of partner governments.
Meanwhile, Farhad Yazdandost, chairman of the International Science Centre of the Ministry of Science and Research and Technology, said the next ministerial meeting of the OIC-15 dialogue platform will be held in the Arab Muslim country of Saudi Arabia.
