In an official statement, the Army welcomed the move as a major victory and pledged to move forward with determination backed by the will of the Sudanian people.
“Today we announce the full liquidation of Khartoum from the presence of the Al-Dagalo militia and the cleansing of the capital from rebel staining,” Army spokesman Nabil Abdullah said in a recorded statement.
“We will ensure that the rebels are completely free in Khartoum,” he added.
The Army reaffirmed its commitment to continue its operation “until the last inch of our land is cleansed by all the rebels.”
The soldiers posted a video on social media showing the army within the Salja area of South Omdurman, known as the city’s last RSF base.
