By referring to the recommendations made by Oman and the talks to hold another round of consultations with Iran on Friday in Rome, Italy’s capital, Esmaeir Baghihai, the Islamic Republic’s Foreign Ministry spokesman, announced on Wednesday evening that his country had agreed to such a proposal.
Baghaei said that Iranian negotiating teams are determined and unshakable to pursue the rights and interests of Iranian states in order to benefit from peaceful nuclear energy, including enrichment and lifting oppressive sanctions, and will not save efforts or initiatives to reach those objectives.
Oman Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamud Albusadi wrote in a post on his X account on Wednesday that “the fifth round of Iran and the US will take place in Rome on Friday, May 23rd.”
Iran and the US delegations held four rounds of indirect talks on Tehran’s nuclear program and lifting US sanctions in Oman’s capital Muscat and Rome, Italy.
Meanwhile, Iran and three European countries – France, Germany and the UK, collectively referred to as E3, held a high-level meeting in Istanbul in Türkiye on Friday on the latest development of indirect talks between Iran and the US.
